MICHELLE VEGA

GENERAL MANAGER, LEGAL SERVICES

Michelle is the one-stop in India for all our clients. She oversees the execution of work across all service lines in our Mumbai and Pune offices, managing more than 700 attorneys and growing.  Although she has a uniquely varied background, her deepest expertise is in general commercial litigation, securities and Civil RICO matters. She has worked on the defense and plaintiff side and for companies across numerous industries including financial, pharmaceutical, insurance, automotive and government.

Michelle has had a diverse, international legal career from the word go. She was sent to Mexico to do document review days after starting at Kelley Drye & Warren LLP as a summer associate after her first year of law school. Two years later, when she started there full-time, she was representing JPMorgan Chase in cases arising out of the Enron bankruptcy, serving Merck KGaA in a litigation dealing with Medicaid and Medicare pricing issues that spanned 27 states, and doing due diligence for a mergers and acquisitions deal for a top global car manufacturer. In addition, she was part of the team that launched Kelley Drye’s e-discovery practice.

After Kelley Drye, Michelle did a stint at the New Jersey Attorney General’s office in the Division of Consumer Affairs that represents the Board of Nursing – an area of personal interest for which she had focused her pro bono work in the past. She then was sought out by Labaton Sucharow LLP to manage a team of contract attorneys handling, among other cases, all aspects of the discovery process for litigation of complex securities fraud class actions for insurance giant American International Group, Inc and a billion-dollar provider of optical products for telecommunications service providers.

Michelle graduated in political science from Boston College and received her JD from Touro Law School.
